Cities in Qatar will play host to the World Cup in 2022.
Qatar has a number of stadiums that are being built specifically for the event and this will be the first time that the Cup will be held in a country with such hot weather.

Qatar has announced that it plans to build 45 new hotels during the World Cup as well as 6,000 apartments and villas. This is in addition to an increase in air travel which is set to see a 600% increase over the course of the tournament.

The Qatar World Cup Stadiums are a series of football stadiums that will be used for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The twelve stadiums, which are spread across six different host cities, comprise an area of over 1 million square metres. The first stage of construction took place in Doha and consisted of the Al-Wakrah Stadium, which was officially opened on 5 December 2010. The second stage of construction took place in Al Khor and consisted of the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, which was officially opened on 15 January 2012. The third stage of construction took place in Lusail and consisted of the Khalifa International Stadium, which was officially opened on 12 March 2014. The fourth stage of construction took place in Umm Salalah and consisted of the Mohammed bin Nayef Stadium, which was officially opened on 7 June 2015. The fifth stage of construction took place in Al Rayyan and consisted of the new Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, which was officially opened on 9 October 2017.

Qatar World Cup 2022 Groups
The 2022 Qatar World Cup will be the 22nd FIFA World Cup, an international football tournament. It is scheduled to take place in eight cities across Qatar from 16 November to 15 December 2022.
Qatar was awarded the rights to host the World Cup in December 2010, and preliminary plans were announced in May 2011. The final bid was approved by FIFA’s executive committee on 14 March 2014.
